A Wet Office

There I was hard at work, the torrential rain was pounding down with all it's might, and there was a strange noise in the background. What was this noise, a distant rumble of thunder, perhaps, or was it a colleague wheeling a trolley along the corridor? The noise didn't stop, further investigation was required.

Looking out the window didn't help, all I could see was the rain continuing on it's mission descending onto the yard outside. As I walked across the office a squelching sound was evident, there was water under the carpet tiles, looking over to one corner the tiles were actually lifting up as the pressure of the water made it's way ever closer to my work station, that's a posh way of saying the bench were I sit.

An emergency operation of shifting files and important paperwork ensured for the next few minutes, the fire brigade was called in to assist pumping out the water, the police came along with their blue and white tape to cordon off the area from any unsuspecting members of the public from falling into the now deep area of water, I was handed a frogman's uniform as there was still a lot of work to do and I mustn't go home early.

STOP, STOP, STOP ... This is getting out of hand, not to mention extremely silly, let's back track, the files and paperwork were moved to a safe place, and then in came the buckets and mops to clear away the water. We all went home and Jeffrey decided to write some far fetched exaggerated story.
